Mary Laura Philpott lives, breathes (and never stops talking about) books. She’s the founding editor of Musing, the online magazine of Nashville’s famed independent bookstore, Parnassus Books, where she also serves as “book enthusiast at large” — a title that seems to translate loosely to “one-woman literary cheerleading squad.” She also co-hosts Nashville Public Television’s author-interview show, A Word on Words. An acclaimed essayist, she’s the author of two books—PENGUINS WITH PEOPLE PROBLEMS and I MISS YOU WHEN I BLINK, forthcoming in 2019 from Touchstone Books. (Tip: check out her short, entertaining TinyLetter, which delivers one book recommendation a week!)
