The day of Brayden Hayes’s funeral is when it all began. Three women all dressed in black were prepared to attend the service, but couldn’t bring themselves to walk inside the church; instead, they wandered across the street and found themselves on the same bench in Central Park.
In a city of over eight million
people, Brayden’s funeral brought together three women he never intended to
meet each other: his wife and his two mistresses. Not quite how you would
expect a love story to begin, but it’s amazing how one chance meeting can
change your life. On that day Claire Hayes, Naomi Powell, and Audrey Tate make
a pact to never let each other fall victim to a cheating bastard again and to
help each other find the right man.
Lauren Layne’s Central Park Pact trilogy shares the stories of these headstrong women and how they find love after the cheating asshole, Brayden. Each book in the trilogy can be read as a stand-alone, but they share glimpses into the others’ lives, so if you don’t want spoilers, you should read them in order. Somewhat reminiscent of Candace Bushnell’s Sex and the City, the stories follow the romantic escapades of these three women on the Upper East Side whose lives have been brought together because of that one terrible ex they inadvertently shared.
