This is it, Marshmallows—the news we’ve been waiting to hear for years: more Veronica Mars is on the way! The show’s star, Kristen Bell, made the official announcement on Instagram, while creator Rob Thomas teased on Twitter:
I will say this: the movie was nostalgic. The Hulu limited series isn’t going to be. Hardcore So-Cal noir. One big case. Eight episodes to tell the story. This is a detective show.

As if that weren’t exciting enough, we’ve also learned that our favorite P.I. will be hunting a serial killer in the new episodes, which are slated for release in 2019. Of course, now that we know that a new case for Veronica, Keith, Logan, Wallace, Weevil, and the rest of the gang is in the works, we’re going to be desperate for clues about what’s ahead. Good thing we have six (technically seven if you count the sequel) novels and a comic series to help us hone our sleuthing skills and get our heads back into the cat-and-mouse game.
