Betsy Burton, co-founder (thirty-eight years ago) and co-owner of The King’s English Bookshop, is the author of a book about life in an independent bookstore titled (appropriately enough) The King’s English: Adventures of an Independent Bookseller, and co-producer of a documentary film, Invisible Disabilities, about the adult special-needs population. She’s served on various boards in the book business, in the Local First arena, and in her community. Burton, the current president of the ABA, is married to Kit Burton and has two children, Amanda Hansen and Nicholas Burton. She’s presently at work (in her spare time) on her second book.
